The updates will be available as download from the store where you purchased the tool. See the product update page for information where to find product updates in each store. If you purchased a tool at PoserPros or you can't get an update from the store, send me an e-mail with your order information to get the update. And TKinter scripts will still not work on Mac. There will be no updates at the moment. Please note that some new features like compound nodes XS and partiatial materials XL are not supported because they are not accessible from Poser Python. PX and all commercial Python scripts have been updated for compatibility with Poser 9 and Poser Pro Unlike Poser 9, my Poser tools currently do not support Unicode characters in file or folder names.
Only PX and Python scripts will work with Unicode. Poser Debut is a limited version of Poser 8. It does not support Poser Python officially, nonetheless it's possible to run Python scripts. All you need is a way to start the scripts, which may be done from XA after including XA in the start up script of Poser Debut. For PX, a free update has been released. I have some other extra content files that were zipped that I downloaded.
Macintosh: Unzip to a safe location and copy items into to your Poser6 or 7 Directory being careful not to overwrite existing folders.
For answers to any questions regarding this package, please use the contact form at www. Ahhh, OK. I usually unzip to a temp folder on my desktop, and then move items folder by folder from there to my DS3A, P9 or PP11 installation, depending on where I want it or it needs to reside. As far as the installation instructions go, what they suggest is to "unzip" the contents directly to Poser. I don't do that because I often move items I can access directly, such as Material files, where I want them, and not necessarily where they would go by default.
By doing the installation manually, I get to choose where things go. Some folks don't mind having content installed in their default locations, so they just unzip directly to their Poser directory. As a general rule, any folders that aren't in the various Library folders that have to be installed to their default locations, because they aren't accessed directly through the Poser Library.
As far as Mac installations, I've never owned a Mac, so I can't be sure, but it sounds similar to what I do for my manual installs with Windows, but I don't know where a "safe place" would be on a Mac, so can't make any suggestions as far as that goes. One thing to watch out for esp. Why would they still be updating an old version when the new has more problems than the old?
What ever you do, do not pay money for the software. I have to agree with other posters that this app is virtual useless for production work. The renderer is unbearably slow, especially for lights with shadows. Fortunately, 6. There is still no other app like Poser, to easily create realistic people and pose them for use in your 3D scenes.
However, the best thing you can do is create, dress, and pose your figure and bring it into another app it's well-integrated with Carrara, but exports to most apps for rendering. And note this workflow is best suited for still images, although some apps e. Carrara allow for animated figure imports.
Just don't think you can do animations within Poser, especially not with hair or other dynamics.
This software is completely unuseful for a Mac user. A turtle runs faster than the rendering engine of Poser. Menus and figures selection is extremely hard and too articulated. For example, you need up to 2 hours to make a SWF flash animation of 60 frames at colors is not allowed!!! The application's folder grows and grows and grows everytime Poser is started. Did you ever see. Well, here you can have a lot of fun in discovery them and erase them.
This stupid Poser 5 makes my G4 1,2GHz scream revenge Curious Labs Poser is a great application, really useful for adding figures to 3D renderings, logos etcetera.
12 Best Alternatives to Poser
The PC version runs quite smoothly. Unfortunately, the Mac version is pretty poor. It is even slow at starting up and the machine I'm using is no slouch , and manipulating figures is very difficult due to the extremely sluggish UI even selection is difficult!

Yes it was a long wait, BUT The program seems very stable. I'm sure that was a major goal of this update to OSX. Their are tons of useful new features and some excellent new models. Poser is VERY easy to use and can create fabulous results, particularly if you're more familiar with working with 2D graphics programs.
